Celebrating Six Years

Six years ago I married my best friend.
I love you.
Thank you for committing to experiencing life with me.
To laugh with me, and cry with me.
To love me with Christlike love.
May our lives be used for His glory!

Prayer for the Excavator

This picture was taken in the Fall shortly after we had about 15 huge cedar trees removed from our front yard. This mini excavator has served us well and now, according to our original plan, we have it up for sale!

Please pray that God sends a buyer for it.

Daily Bread

"Give us each day our daily bread." Luke 11:3

Verse that reminds me that God is the provider of all we have. He provides us with our daily needs. And He also measures out what we can handle each day. It is not for us to worry about tomorrow, or the next week or month. Each day is ordained for that day's activity.

In Transit - A New Normal

Joyanne has graduated to the highchair. Before, she sat in a little rocker near the floor, but she has entered a squealing stage and prefers to be up where she can see action!

We have entered week 2 of being out of our house while renovations happen. It has dawned on us that this is a preview of our future! Parenting "in transit," if you want to call it. To say, "We'll deal with that issue when we're home and in our normal routine," won't suffice, as previously thought. This is how life is going to be. We are going to have to learn to deal with issues as they arise. Things aren't going to be as they were. (Haha, did I just say "easy"?)

We pray our children will learn to be even more adaptable and resilient, and that God will lavish grace on us as we stumble through this high calling we refer to as "parenting." And that we will lavish the grace we have received onto our children and each other too!

A Snapshot of Renos

The life of renos continues. But we have temporarily moved out of our house now so that Rob can finish up some pretty major indoor things: fixing our stars, relocating the front door to where the fireplace is, fixing the hole in the ceiling in the living room, dry-walling the new bedrooms upstairs, and putting carpet in upstairs as well.
After a couple of hours of shifting furniture, rolling up carpet, and packing clothes we were out of there! Rob's mom is so gracious in allowing us to move in with her. We appreciate her so much.
It is very exciting for me to think that when we move back in we will probably be moving into our new master bedroom with a bathroom! The kids will be moved into their new rooms, we will have a playroom, a coat closet, and a new place for a computer. Seeing this project come to its end also means that we will be spending more time focused on MAF!
